The standard RetroWAL™ product is an interior curtain wall retrofit window system that utilizes a window attachment lite that adheres to the interior of an existing window – with no structural reinforcement required.
Base Model Features:
The base model of RetroWAL™ creates an insulating air gap through the installation of a second piece of glass behind the existing glass, which simulates the performance of double pane windows.
- Improves insulation
- Reduces air infiltration
- Lowers U values
Product Feature 1 – Low-E Glazing:
Low emissivity (low-e) glazing on the glass further increases the energy efficiency of the window by reflecting the heat transfer from infrared and ultraviolet radiation, while still allowing in visible light. This maintains a comfortable indoor temperature by allowing heat flow back into the building through the glass in the cold temperatures, and reflecting it out during the warmer seasons.
RetroWAL™ has been found to save up to 20% annually on energy costs.
Product Feature 2 – Laminated Glass:
RetroWAL’s™ laminated glass provides sound proofing by creating a barrier seal that prevents the ability for outside noise to penetrate into the building. It can reduce perceptible sound levels by nearly 50% and has measured at an STC of 47 and an OITC of 40.
Product Feature 3 – Easy Do-It-Yourself Commercial Installation:
RetroWAL™ is a commercial curtain wall retrofit system, but it doesn’t require specialized installation expertise. Save on installation costs by installing it with your in-house maintenance team or preferred local window company.
